Bloggers create bonds with their audience and the other bloggers by initiating online conversations in the comment section. Blogs promise to display journalists as human beings with opinions, emotions, and personal lives. Blogs can bring a refreshing new openness to the newsroom by bringing personality to the reporters. Blogs have exploded in popularity in the past years, fuelled by greater access to bandwidth and low-cost, often free software. The good thing about a blog is that they introduce a fresh voice into the national discourse on various topics and assist build communities of interest through its collections of links. The transparency of blogging has contributed to the news agencies becoming available and interactive. Maintaining a blog, which allows journalism students to apply what they learn to the real world, but essentially to areas and career goals of personal interest.

Blogs are simple and straightforward, a great way to practice writing in a vulnerable and self-correcting way. There is nothing like a blog to help journalism students to practice responsible and transparent writing. As a journalism/ mass communication student, it is certainly encouraged to start blogging as blogs create connections between concepts in fields of study that are very different or seem to occupy different parts of your thinking.
